NRA Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home


Event Details


This is a Saturday, Sunday, two day course.

The course teaches students the knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective and responsible use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home. Students have the opportunity to attend this course using a quality strong side hip holster that covers the trigger, or a holster purse. From a review of safe firearms handling and proper mindset to presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course contains the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.

Course fee $325.

Round count - 250 - we're preparing to shoot indoors in case of weather so lead ammo (see John Muller if you need lead ammo). We'll have some .38spl, 9mm and .45 to trade for jacketed but only a couple hundred of each...

Requirements to register:

  1. Copy of your LTCF or other states CCW license
  2. Firearm make, model and caliber (.380 is minimum caliber)
  3. Holster make and model (belt holster STRONGLY preferred) - no thigh rigs - IWB - depends...
    1. I want to see any IWB holsters beforehand - I need to see you reholster  multiple times safely
  4. Deposit of $100 (we have to get a LOT of material/props for this course.
  5. Proof of taking the PPITH course (registration for the PPITH at NCCSC is OK)
