New at NCCSC is the NRA Basic Rifle Course

NCCSC is proud to partner with certified NRA instructors in offering the NRA Basic Rifle Course.This course is a 14-hour program that includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest position, Standing. Prone, Kneeling and Sitting positions; cleaning the rifle, and sight adjustment; as well as individualized opportunities for skill development.

The course will be held in the Clubhouse/Indoor range using .22cal rifles. If you do not have a .22 the instructors can arrange to make one available to you. (You are responsible for bringing 150 rounds of .22 LR ammunition with you to the course.) Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

Upon registration the instructors will be in contact with you.

This course is an excellent pre-curser to all other Rifle shooting programs.
