NRA Instructor Development Workshops

NCCSC collaborates with NRA Training Counselors to provide training for new NRA Instructors and offer workshops that lead to the individual's certification to teach various NRA disciplines which may include:

  • NRA Basic Pistol
  • NRA Basic Rifle
  • NRA Basic Shotgun
  • NRA Personal Protection
  • NRA Home Firearm Safety
  • NRA Range Safety Officer Course

The programs are conducted at NCCSC as demand dictates.  Available courses will be listed on the Club Calendar.  If registration is available, links will be provided on the club calendar.

Workshops cover instructional techniques, how to plan courses, and how to work as a member of a training team. As an NRA Certified instructor you will be responsible for

  • Conducting NRA Basic Courses in accordance with policies and procedures outlined by NRA
  • Upholding the quality and integrity of national firearm safety and training standards established by NRA
  • Promoting firearm safety and the shooting sports
  • Reporting training data to NRA

These workshops will teach you the skills necessary to successfully conduct the courses within the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program.  It is important that you know how to conduct yourself in a safe manner when handling and shooting firearms as you will be tasked with teaching the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using firearms safely and responsibly.

The cost of a workshop varies and depends upon the disciplines covered in the workshop. All necessary materials and training aids are provided. You are welcome to bring firearms that are relevant to the topics covered.

If you have additional question, please reach out to Frank Tait.
